New music from both sides of the border

This is normally a quiet time of the year for new releases. Many musicians are keeping busy playing the summer tour circuit or enjoying some well deserved time off. However, there are a few notable releases to share today.

Sheryl Crow releases 100 Miles From Memphis. Her seventh studio album marks a return to the sounds that first inspired her to make music. It features songs like Eye to Eye with legendary rocker Keith Richards and Sign Your Name with background vocals by Justin Timberlake. Sheryl Crow will be making a tour stop at the Rama Casino in Ontario on August 11.

German alt rockers Tokio Hotel won the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist in 2008. Now the band releases Humanoid City Live. This album "captures all the angst and passion of their 2010 concert in Milan, Italy." The press release goes on to add: "It arrives in the physical marketplace on Cherrytree/Interscope Records as a special deluxe two-disc DVD+CD package. At the same time, the concert's 19 audio tracks will go up as a digital album at all web providers."
